Default 350 distributor problem

I have a 84 chevy with a 350 I bought a new dist but not getting any fire to my plugs. I have power going to the coil and even changed out the cap and coil with one I knew that worked, but still not getting fire!!! Any ideas or help pls!!

How are you checking for fire to the plugs? Since you've changed the cap, is the plug wires correct to firing order?

im checking fire by putting the plug in the wire and grounding it to the block and cranking over the engine to look for spark. and yes the firing order is correct. Allen are you meaning the coil inside the cap?
