4.3l to a 305/335 Swap
Just wondering what it would take to swap my 4.3l v-6 from my 92 chevy k1500, with a 305/335 engine that i am building.
The 305 is from an older camaro (84)
Further information: I do not care what you think of the 305/335, all i want to know is what it would take to swap it with my 4.3l, I understand that a 350/383 is a better engine but i already have the 305, and i like to do things that other people shy away from.
In advance, Thanks everyone.

OK carb, then you will be installing an ignition system in place of the computer.
Check the trans and make sure it's not electronic as well.

OK, sounds like it will work to me, you may need a fan shroud from a V8 model.
One thing I don't know is how the motor mounts will line up, maybe someone else can chime in.

I have a 89 gmc sierra that originally had a 4.3 tbi, and its got a 5 speed manual (HM 290) and I swapped it with a 350 tbi. The only things I had to change was the engine mounts, clutch, flywheel, and remove the fan shroud. I put an electric fan in so I dont need a shroud and removed the mechanical fan. This makes for more room too in front of the engine. I even kept the same radiator, ecm, rad hoses, all of the wiring is the same. But if your going carb you dont have to worry about the sensor harness.
Not sure about a 305, but the 350 flywheel is thicker than the 4.3, and the clutch too. Everything bolted up nicely, just need to buy V8 engine mounts, and the mount brackets that bolt to the engine.
Ive had no problems with the trans or any driveline part, not even a check engine light on. The trans is holding up good still even after several burnouts and off roading.
