Default 4.8 supercharger ideas

I have a silverado 1500 as adaily driver. It has 4.8 w 5 speed and 3:73 posi. Slight mode include: 160 thermostat specific tune long tube pacesetters tv spacer cut resinaters out of intake k&n filter hooker mufflers true duals 8 mm wire bypass of throtle body and that's all I can think of. So what's next that will not kill mileage. Supercharger? If so what does that cost and which brand is good and reliable? Help please...

I would go for a turbocharger, not a supercharger.
Though miniscule, a supercharger puts added wear on the engine
and the power gain is not as significant as a turbo.

A turbocharger will also help you get better gas mileage when cruising.
It atomizes the air entering the chamber so when it mixes with the
fuel it mixes more efficiently using up more of the fuel and not leaving as much unburned.
You could also install a big bore kit and turn it into a 5.2 litre or something like that.
You could upgrade the throttle bodies, put in aftermarket pistons or high compression pistons
with adjustable cam sprockets to take full advantage of the high compression.
Though with high comp pistons you will only be able to use supreme gas, just a heads up.

A Turbo is a good idea but I am not familiar with which brands work best for the silverado
so I will let someone else mention the brands.

Supercharger will only hurt your gas mileage and does add significant wear to your engine.

STSturbo.com is what I would go for... It's a remote turbo system, no overheating issues due to the turbo being under the hood, and, as Mille stated, better highway mileage.

haha I am 19 years old attending college with a truck that has 151,000 miles (not worth the possible engine blow-out, in my opinion), so I wouldn't have any personal experience with those, but they website DOES say bolt on? So I'm thinking it wouldn't be toooo hard to get it done yourself if you're mechanically inclined.
