i have left them in a bunch of times and never had it come back, sometimes going back in is worse than taking it out

 

Thats what I did on the 2000 Express that my HVAC business has. The transmission isn't in too great of shape, so I can't safely say whether any of the problems it has can be attributed to that, but I have heard of a lot of folks leaving it in with no problem as Luke pointed out.
