Default 2003 silverado 2500hd 4l80e shifts down a gear or 2 ,Dash reads Transmission hot

New 4l80e gets to 150-160 readout says Transmission Hot then shifts down 1 or 2 gears and will not go back to overdrive. Is that a sensor issue or a fluid issue?

Better late than never....

You'll have to drop the pan to fix the connector (new wire harness) easy job. Once fluid makes it's way into the connector you'll end with all sorts of shift/no shift issues. Also clean out the other end well with electrical contact cleaner. Also good idea to replace both the shift solenoids while you're in there and turn the force actuator up 1/2 turn.
