Default 700r4 to turbo 400 swap????

i have a 1989 chevy k2500 4x4 with a tbi 350 and a turbo 400 trans. i also have a 1986 camaro iroc z-28 with a carburated 350 and it has a 700r4 i was trying to find a way to swap the transmisions around to get better fuel mileage out of the truck because it is driven more. what all wil i need to aquire/buy to complete the swap?

Basically, the transmission output shaft (lose the extension housing) and the tranny to transfer case adaptor. While you're in there, make darned sure that the reverse piston and stack has the 5 fiber setup. Many Cameros used a 4 disc setup, but behind a 350, you should be okay.

Also, check the loom for the converter lockup feed, the brake switch and possibly the PROM in the ECM may have to be changed.

The dipstick/tube and throttle cable/bracket "should" interchange.

Think long and hard about this tho, as any 4L60 older than a '91 is a meltdown just waiting to happen. GM didn't get this guy perfected until 1991.
