77 chevy truck turn signal wiring problem
My front turn signals quit working on me the day i tried to find the horn wire. I was checking the steering column harness with a test light. just check if there was power going to it at this point.
One wire i touched made the flasher click.
the parking lights still work fine.
I ended up getting the right signal working. It was a loose connection at the steering column. The left still isn't working.
I have a flashing test light at the column for the signal, both front and back.
there is no signal going from the fuse box to the wiring harness under the hood.
I was followed where the wire goes. At the dash where it hooks into the instrument cluster it isn't getting power. I tried checking it to see if it was grounded with a continuity tester and it acted like it was. I followed that to where it goes to the engine bay harness. If I unhook the engine bay harness it wouldn't be grounded out. I don't know if this is normal or not.
I visually checked the wires from the signal to the point it goes into the cab. they looked good.
Thats where I'm at right now. I'm not sure what to do next. Could any of you offer up some suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
