![Question](https://chevroletforum.com/forum/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I just acquired an 89 1/2 ton w/ a strong running 5.7, th700r4, 2wd. the truck was cheep, the new tires on it were worth what I paid for the whole truck.
I'm having a heap of problems in the dash; heat/ac control unit I believe is bad( flickers in and out, doesn't actually control anything), the aftermarket radio was wired to the stock one for power(wire loom under dash). fuse panel light flickers in time with the heat/ac unit, as does the light under hood.
I've torn the dash apart, checked what I can, and am fed up
. I'm considering doing a swap for a newer dash( out of a 95-98 dash) and wiring harness or just going with a complete custom job.
I guess to get to the real question, has anyone attempted this conversion? (to the newer style dash) any problems hints tips.![Confused](https://chevroletforum.com/forum/images/smilies/confused.gif)
I love chevy's but have been building toyota rock crawlers for a long time. this will be the first chevy street build for me.
thanks in advance

I'm looking at doing alot more than just the cluster. complete dash, left to right. wiring and gauges are not the issue at the moment. I'm probably going to go through and rewire anyway.
