92 TBI350 silverado. not running right...
I have a 92 TBI 350 4wd 5 speed that isnt running right lately.. Ill list off the symptoms. It was idling high for a month of so before this, so maybe that had something to do with this? Anyway, I just changed the oil too, then put 60 or so miles on and now when i drive, it sounds different (louder). It has duals and used to cackle at 2200 rpm, now it cackles before that and hardly at all. If i hammer on it in second, its almost like the rpm guage is falling behind and cant keep up around 2500 rpm? seems louder, but dont think thats the issue. hard saying. I thoughtt the clutch might be slipping, cuz it seems like its reving out or something, but not the issue. I hammered on it in a high gear to see, and nope, just shakes. Also, especially when its cold, if i take off in second gear, it shakes pretty bad when doesnt have quite enough power. i used to go though town in 4th, now if i try, it shakes and lugs... have to get rpms higher before i shift to 4th. any ideas??? thanks!

Have you changed your fuel filter? Have you checked fuel pressure? Is the truck getting up to operating temprature? You could have a bad coolant temp switch. Dirty Idle air control valve, there are several things that could contribute to this...

I havent checked fuel pressure. What should that be at? Dont I just hook guage up at fuel rail? The truck does get up to operating temp though, and seems to run better when warm.

I have a 1995 gmc sierra with a 350tbi.and my truck started to loose power and shake a lot at idle. It went on for some time and my gas milage started to decrease Till one day the truck quit and wouldn't start. The problem was the fuel injectors went bad and weren't closing and leaking fuel into the throttle body. New injectors fixed everthing. Idle smoothed out power came back fuel milage back to normal. Hope this helps.

Mine seems to idle fine, it's mainly shakes when you try putting in it a higher gear to save on fuel or what not. And if you don't get the clutch to pedal ratio just right.
