Default 93 c1500 350 v8

Hey fellas, I just got this 93 1500 with a 350. The temp gauge shoots to the 3 o'clock position all the time, cold, warm doesn't matter and the "check gauges" light is lit on the dash as well. Why is that,? Is that a wiring issue or a common temp sensor issue?

If you are 100% sure you don't have air bubbles in the coolant system, then your coolant temp sender is probably bad.
