95 k2500 drivetrain problems
Recently aquired a 1995 chevy k2500 6.5L diesel as a project (used to be a family members)
Whats been done to it that i know of:
-front suspension was converted to a leaf spring system with a hefty lift to it ( to do so they cut the original mounting brackets off and welded on new ones to accomodate)
-Rear leafs were also slightly modified for the lift.
-currently no sway bar on the front
-also notice a u-bolt and a piece of 2x4 being used as a mount right behind the transmission
The major problem: The truck now has a history of cracking the flywheel while it is being driven...
the truck hasn't been driven more than 100yards in the last seven years and just got it running for the first time in two years.
I could use help with the flywheel problem and a direction i should go to fix it.
-Thanks, aj

I would assume that that 2x4 mount at the rear of the trans could be the issue. Get the correct mount set up, bet that'll bring the angle of the trans to the proper angle, should help with the flywheel.

Thats what i figured too. Does anyone know the name of the mount that is supposed to go there? I know there is another crossmember a little further back with a center bearing mount but i haven't found anything info about that one
