Default 98 Tail Light Problem

Hello all, I really hop someone on here can help me out...

I have a 1998 Silverado Z71, and my left rear brake/turn signal light, along with 3 out 4 center tail light on top of the cab, are out. Wierd part is, there is nothing wrong with the bulbs. I've even replaced the bulbs with brand new ones, and still the same problems. I'm dumbfounded as to what the problem is.

I've heard of some kind of electrical unit that controls these lights, but its a rumor as far as I know. Can anyone pinpoint the problem for me, any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Look for a poor ground to these lights.

Are you getting electrical power at the socket?
