99 1500 data link connector
I got a 99 1500 4x4, build date is 5/99 the newwer body style with a 4.8liter, the mil lamp is not on, the obd2 connector doesnt power up the scan tool, there are six or so wires goin to the obd2 connector, all of the clips and wires are solid to the back of it.. the ecm wires and connectors, are solid no crrosion at all, I was wondering if anyone has had computer problems with this ecm, common wire chafing problems...if it needs a reflash or needs to be replaced, I have a 98 wire diagram doesnt show the obd2 connector in detail, Im stumped, Im figuring either the wiring to the ecm has a short, between the connector and the ecm.. Gonna check the wires next, ANy Help wqould be grreatly appreciated Thanx in adavance Tony

Wow dude I appreciate it..Was a success my buddies happy he can get a mass state inspection now, thanks for your help ws just a blown 15 from him puttin the wrong lighter in the socket....Now I kno what to look for on all the chevs, is that a common problem, kinda foolish to put the ecm on the cigar fuse isnt it...Im good with electircal troubleshooting, just helps to have someone around thats knows the usual suspects..Neways the dealership wanted at least 500 for a harness and **** they said was bad, was just a fuse, Maybe i should charge 400 for my 30 mins of work..hehe thanks bud again

np.....Its very common to see the fuse blown. People always overload the adaptors, and pennies seems to fit perfectly down the hole and short them out
