Default ABS Light.... No Codes!!!

Hey guys I have posted about my abs light staying on before and finally got around to checking it with a scanner and it did not find any codes! What should I do, its driving me nuts. 04 silverado z71 At lower speeds when braking, the pedal gives more and makes like a scooting noise. Light is not always on, it comes and goes. Thanks

Cool

"Scooting" noise? Could that possibly be brake surfaces which are metal on metal? You may want to check your pads and shoes, and make sure you don't need new brakes, period.

Depending on how far and how hard you drive, you could easily need brakes by now.

No thats not it...sorry I should have included that. Just checked my brakes and they are fine. Now today something new happened that has never happened over the last six months which is how long this have been going on. The actual red brake light came on and my dash said service brake system. Maybe this will help. Thanks for the post man
