Alarm/ringing sound when I turn on and off truck
05 Silverado 1500 4x4 v8 4.8l.
Yesterday got into truck and turned on truck, notice a ringing/alarm type sound coming from under the dash, after 30 seconds it went off. When I got home and turned off the truck the same ringing/alarm sound came on.
This morning, the same, turn on truck and when I got to work and turned off truck, alarm sounded.
There is no warning lights on in the instrument panel and the truck drives fine.
I have no door alarm installed and there is only a factory stereo. Nothing has changed. I bought this truck 3 weeks ago.
Any ideas?
Thanks Aall!

Can you video record it with your cell phone and post it to youtube then post the link here or something?
I think if people can actually hear it someone will recognize it.

hmm ok.
Have you ever uploaded anything to youtube before?
If no then you need to create a free username and password then select upload video.
If you have and it just isn't accepting the type of video
then open up windows movie maker under accsessories from your start menu,
drag the video into the movie maker and down into the timeline,
then click file and click save movie as
then select next
then name the movie and click next
then select the dot next to best quality for playback on my computer
then save it and when you go to youtube that will be a valid movie file to upload.

OK, since I am at work, I am not able to view youtube, but I was able to host the video at google-gmail. Here is the link. It is 8 megs, takes about 1 minute to upload into quick time.

ok, this is pissing me off, I got in the truck went to lunch, notice the sound was gone. Went to have the tranmission filter changed and still no alarm. I also notice the Engine Hours are at 500.6. I wonder does the engine hours have a notification alarm tied to it? So weird!

So here is a youtube version.
for some reason this site won't let me embed the video.
There are a few different ways I know of to do it but none work.
So here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYnVeeg234o
the most common way to embed is like this
I know my Jag made a similar sound like that when the gear shifter
wasn't fully in the selected position. Like I put it in Park but the lever
wasn't fully on the "P" it would make that noise, maybe you can check that out.
