Default biggest tires

anyone know the largest tires you can fit on a stock 02 2500HD 4x4? Think I'm gonna go with 285's but was wondering about 315's. It has 265's right now, and they're just too tiny. Also, I'm thinking about Geolanders, just because they're reasonably priced and seem to have good tread wear. Any suggestions?

Hey I have a 2004 2500 HD and i have the torshion bars raised in the front and Ihave BFG All-Terrains 285/75 R16 there great but they rub when i turn the wheel all the way to the left. So the answer to your question is no 265 is the biggest tire you can put on the stock truck without rubbing. I hope this helped.

Really, the biggest tires are 255/85 's. They are narrower than 285/75 's yet are about the same diameter. I took off the factory 245/75's and put on Trail Mark brand. They are awesome, not only for the look but also the tread. (The second number in the tire designation is aspect ratio, bigger number larger diameter.)
Plus these fit the rim more properly than 285's (which aren't recommended on factory 16" rims). I tied back the inside edge of the mud flaps to keep from rubbing, but that was all.

I tried to run 315's off a hummer and there was no getting them to fit. I do plow though and my front end hangs a little low even with the T-bars cranked to the max. I am currently running 285's on stock rims. You can go up to 295's on stock rims but thats pushing it on a 6.5" rim width. As far as fitment goes... you will have to trim a little bit of the lower valance. Its not too bad just grab a grinder or dremel tool and scribe the plastic a bit. They will fit just FINE!!!
