Default Blower Motor Problems

I have a
2003 Chev Silveado 1500
Manual Dual Climate Control W/Rear Defrost

I've lost all my blower fans speeds except High (#5) I changed the climate cotrol module and it didn't solve my problem. What other part should I be looking to replace?

I have no information relevant to your particular quandary. I do, however, have many questions about the hellish noise emminating from my blower motor. The thing squeals like a banshee on any setting (except, of course, OFF), and it's driving me nuts. So much so, that I often carry on and carry forth driving without any heat in the winter, or A/C in the summer.

I could rip the thing out, and replace it, but I'd like to know beforehand if anyone else has done this only to find that their problem went unresolved.
