Brake Booster or Master cylinder
Hey this is my 1st post, i have a real quickk problem i need help with, this guy has a 1999 1500 chevy v6 ( im guessing silverado) and his brakes went out on him. i took a look at it and there was no fluid left in the reservoir, it had all leaked out, he said he would hafta pump it a few times before it would work, and before he got home he said it had gotten to the point of not working. well i had a thought it was the brake booster? i put my hand on it and there was fluid all over it, so i removed the brake booster and the master clyinder but after looking up some info on google im not sure which one it was now.... do yall have any idea?
also i noticed after removing the brake booster that 1 of the 4 bolts on the booster has a tiny leak around it?

the booster wouldn't leak fluid.....it is strickly vacuum operated.
The seal on the master right where the rod from the brake pedal is leaking and it goes into the booster.
Put a master cylinder on it and you should be good to go.
Don't forget to bench bleed it before you install it

This may sound sill, but it happens... was the filler cap to the Master Cylinder fully seated?
Shoot you some PB Blaster on the nuts, let it sit for spell, and then take a whack at bustin' 'em.
success,
