Default can I harm my truck with my new radio?? please help

I put a stereo in my 2003 silverado without Bose, on star, or steering controls. It works awsome. Since my truck never had chimes when I bought it, im not too worried about it. I tested my DIC, blower motor, flashers, lights, dimmers, cruise, literally everything with the radio out of the dash to simulate no serial. I then ran fused ignition wire to my wiper fuse using a splice that adds a wire to a fuse holder. Im now worried since I didnt use the serial wire my computer might act up.. I was told disconnecting thr serial can degrade the computer and or ruin it. Should I be concerned??

Hey 89,

When I had my 03 1500 silverado I ran a fused wire from the red ignition wire to the 12v power wire on the radio harness that way when I turned the ignition on the radio would turn on. I dont recall what the serial wire does.
