Default Car Deck

Okay, im new to this forum and not veryknowledable in trucks or things like this. i got a Silverado 1999 extended cab.I want to get a car deck or something like that beucase im adding amps and subs to it BUT one thing is that i dont know where to start. like if i actually buy the deck how i remove the dashboard or what do i remove. and where do i place it because it seems like the in deck thing is too big to put a deck in it. and so i dont want to get people to install it for me beucase i have a feeling they might do something with it and i wanna learn these of stuff.

k thanks but i have one quesion. do you think it would still be okay if i change the stereo to a new deck, keep the original speakers and just hook up amps and sub. the amp is a 400 watt( McIntosh MC431) and the Subwoofer is (JL Audio).

Ya i would think it would be ok. I dont see why not as long as the stereo you buy can handle it.
