Default Changing spark plugs

I also looking to change the plugs and wires in my 08 5.3 vortec silverado, and i wanted to know about the little metal looking cap that is around the end of the wire. How do they come, I haven't tried to take them off yet, I wanted to ask first before i did anything wrong.

It will come off with the wire. Try to twist the wire on the plug before turning. Once the wire is remove you easily switch the metal heat shield by sliding it off the end of the wire.
