Default Clunk From Park

2005, 2500,6.0,auto 4x4. Just started last couple of days. When on a slope, (big or small). when shifting into gear I get a clunking noise from the area under driver side and hear a noise coming from rear end.
Do not hear any noise while driving. Does not do it on level ground. Any ideas where I should look before going to tranny shop. Have 79,000 miles. No hard driving. 4x4 works. Thanks

Off the top of my head... a dry slip yoke, possible U-joints, motor and or transmission mounts...

Default Clunk

Checked drive shaft. OK. After messing around, the drive shaft turns when moving from park to drive. If you shift a few time without moving, noise goes away. The noise sounds like when you shift into 4low. Like I said only does it when parked on a incline. It also does it when shifting into reverse. Starting to bug me. do not want to damage the tranny.
