Default Cold Air Intake on a 1997 K1500

ok se if i can get this to work,

first picture, I test installed the CAI system for trim and fit.

second picture, I found out that a piece of 6" PVC pipe was a "snug" fit for my air cleaner.
I removed the battery tray out of the LH "drivers side" did not have a battery there anyway
cut a 10 inch piece of the PVC at an angle,

3rd and 4th pictures: test fit it and marked the radiator support for trim of obstructing metal careful not to reduce the margin of mounting for the head light.

5th picture: then I installed the PVC with plumbers tape and Painted to cover the white PVC pipe

Default More cia

I then held the head light in place and marked it for "restriction removal". Using a 1/2 inch and #/4 inch drill bit drilled a bunch of holes being careful "NOT" to remove any of the support ribs on the front. I then used a jigsaw to trimout the center. Kind of like dot to dot coloring

Default final CIA

I reinstalled the headlight , took pictures from over, and under the headlight. I am going to insulate the metal tubing as I am getting to much heat transfer. IAT is running arround 125 on a 68 degree day.

this can be done on the right hand side for you Vortec guys. You just have to relocate your battery to the Left Hand side.
