so i looked at my stock speakers in my garage and thought when the audio store put the new ones in they took out the harness that plugs into the speaker and left it in each door. so how would i go about wiring the speakers now. could i use a simple slide on connector for each prong in the housing?

Standard female crimp connectors should be fine for the positive side, but you'll need the smaller females for the negative side. The connectors usually come with new speakers.

Short answer, yes.
