ive got a 2003 ext cab z71 six lug
first, anybody know the backspacing on the factory wheel(16")?
secondly, what lift kits if any can i still use the factory wheels to run 35's? or 33's?
thirdly, could i run 285/75/16's or 305/70/16 on stock suspension? right now ive got 265/75/16's on stock rims
this truck is new to me and in my opinion needs some work to get it up to par. already installed step bars and a grill guard myself. for the time being it isa daily driver but i also take it muddin kinda frequently. so the lift and tire issues are both practical and economical issues. i want the extra ground clearance but dont wanna have to get new wheels in addition to the tires and kit.

I've got an 05 3/4 ton, and I ran 285/75/16's on it stock. I had a leveling kit put on, and I have lots of clearance, so I'm going to try a bigger tire. I previously had a 2000 Z71, and I ran 285's on it stock with no problems. Your local tire shop can tell you for sure the max tire size.

yeah, ive talked to a couple of shops and i get vastly differing opinions. one guy said 305's no problem, another said i couldnt even go to the 285's without some kinda ridiculous backspacing.
i guess im really more concerned about trying to retain the stock wheels and run 35's. dont know which brand lift will let me upsize the tire and still use them. the cost of the lift and tires alone will be perty steep so im not really looking forward to shelling out another 7-800 bucks on new rims to boot.
theres a couple of decent 4x4 shops i wanna talk to, just havent found the time to get there(working too damn much!).
