Default Remote Start Error

First off let me say hello as I am new to the forum. I just finished all the wiring for the install on my 2010 Silverado WT. Everything was going smooth until the remote start would not work and give me a Remote Start Error message on the remote with no flashes. I done the install with the dlpk bypass. I tested the alarm and everything works fine with that, but I just cant figure out why it will not even attempt to start. I have went through the instructions numerous times and checked the wiring to assure it is correct. If anyone has any idea what could be causing this error please help.

Blaze, I ordered mine from the link given at the top of thread http://www.caraudio-caralarms.com/. They provided great service and had the bypass at my door in 3 days.

Thank you jcjoines for a great post. It really made for a easy install. After a couple more hours of going over everything I got all of the system working. Was just a simple mistake I made while programming the unit.

Hey guys,

Just want to start off by saying that this has been one of the most helpful forums on installing your own viper alarm system. God Job!!

I just purchased a 2012 Silverado 2500HD and the local shop in town wants $799 to install the Viper 5901. I think I'm going to tackle this on my own.

The site you provided Car Alarms Ohio Columbus OH Remote Car Starters Replacement Car Alarm Remotes Bypass Modules - Remote Start Experts states that the DLPKGM has been discontinued and the DLPK works on models up to 2010. XpressKit.com shows that the DBALL should work for my 2012 vehicle. I was thinking of ordering the DBALL and the RFLCHGM(Rf loop; to address the dead battery issue.). Before I ordered anything I wanted to check you you guys if there is any other issues or concerns I should be aware of?

Thanks!
