engine stutter trouble
Hey guys first off im a new member and really excited to be here. Ok i have a 1998 chevy k1500 350. my problem is when the truck is in gear and idleing it stutters. sometimes just a little, sometimes as if its going to die, and sometimes not at all. Now for the first time the other day it did it in park which is new. And i noticed when i was at the drive through i could hear a faint clicking just a split second before it stutters. I tracked this "clicking" to the backside of the engine and seems to be toward the distributor or coil pack or maybe down the backside of the engine. And just in the past few days it has done this while driving down the road like accellerating up a hill. thanks guys anyhelp would be greatly appreciated. Also i have replaced plugs and wires about 40000 miles back and just replaced cap and rotor.
since you hear a clicking noise, My best guess without see or hearing it would be a bad wire. even though you just replaced them 40k ago, one of them might be bare, or rubbed, burned through the coating. you might want to pull the wires on the rear of the motor off and look for damage to them..
