Sorry Guys.....You've got an idiot on board.
What turns out, what I thought the coolant level, was a stain in the coolant tank. I finally took the cap off.....voila.....no water. I feel like a smacked ***. And $100 poorer for my stupidity.
NOW.........where did the water go??? No leaks on my driveway (park in the same place every night).
No milk shake on my dip stick.
No steam out my tail pipe.
I think I'll invest in a coolant tank cap and see what happens.
Again, my apologies (this comes from a mechanic who stopped working on cars when they had real "RADIATOR CAPS" on the radiator) LOL

Well, you may have had a bad clutch and caused the temps to rise. Causing your fluid to expand, and pour out the over flow. Thus no more water.
I'm just trying to help you feel better!!

Thanks, it's not the worst mistake I ever made. Hell.......I got married once.

The heater core is just a small radiator. If using the heater is lowering the engine temperature, that means the normal radiator is not doing it so well. When the heater is off, there is not coolant flowing through
