First 2500hd.. Pulled the trigger
I'm thinking about getting a 01 2500 with the 6.0 2wd and 200,000 miles. I know that thats alot of miles but they are asking 2000 for it 4door cab tow package. Does that sound like a decent deal? How are these motors for longevity?

well i have a 99 silverado with 260000 miles on it its a long bed extented cab and when i got it i paid 3000 so 2000 for a four door is a steel
the 6.0 will last a long time and do anything you want it to do
if the oil is changed every 5000miles spark plugs changed every 100000 miles and wire and basic matenice kept that truck will run for another 100000 miles +
i still pull with my truck including a 35ft camper trailer a 18 foot all steal trailer loaded down and from time to time pull my brother inlaws dodge 2500 cummins from time to time out of the mud lol

Picked it up this morning..
got it home.. defunked the inside as much as possible with out breaking into a sweat. Called about a tail gate, fuelled up and put the 6.0 horrible gas milage myth to the test.. yup it sucks gas. drove 75 miles one way to get the tail gate planned on installing it there but the sheet metal at the bottom of the opening was bashed over from the bumper being run into a few times. I made it home and went to work with the 3lb sledge and a 2x4 2 minutes later
now to either find a replacement bumper or make my own.. not sure what way to go.
I when I first looked at it I thought the bed liner was just beat up and mis shaped but then I climbed into it to load the tailgate I realized that it is packed full of sand...
