![Question](https://chevroletforum.com/forum/images/icons/icon5.gif)
When I replaced my front right cv axle I noticed when I spin the axle shaft(that the cv halfshaft bolts to on the front pig) had a rough spin to it. Now when I wiggle my cvhalshaft it has some play in it. Is it normal to have some play? I am also unable to figure out what is causing a growling noise that appears only when I turn right. Could this be the front axle bearings causing this noise? How hard re these to replace? Thanks guys.

Zuk,
as long as the axle was not engaged, the differential would not be turning.
That half shaft is removed be 5 bolts on the differential and 2 bolts on a hanger, the axle is held inside by a ring clip that may need replacing, this would explain the play you described. It is fairly easy to do and I think I have a exploded view at home that I had my local dealer print out for me.
