Default Fuel Guage Stuck

Hello all. I'm new to the forum here, I just got a 1997 Cheverolet K1500. I bought the truck Thursday and have drove it maybe 60 miles. I noticed that the fuel guage has not moved since. I put 20 dollars in it. Still has not moved at all. It is stuck just below a quarter tank. I'm just wondering what it could be? I looked on other sites and this forum. Could be a float? Bad ground wire, bad guage? Fuel sender assembly? I don't know. I'm new to Chevys and this is a first for me. Thank for all the help!

Welcome to the forum. When you first turn the key to RUN, does the gauge needle do a full sweep during the bulb test? If not, it's probably a broken gauge. Otherwise, look toward the fuel sender and wiring.

Thanks for the reply. The needle does not move at all. It just stays in the same spot. I turned the ignition on and off about 12 times in a row. Nothing. So probably broken gauge or wiring (hopefully!)?

No, what's broken is probably the stepper motor behind the gauge needle. You need the I/P cluster replaced or repaired. Check out MDTAHOE's response in thread https://chevroletforum.com/forum/tah...uburban-48533/ which I just read.
