Default Fuel Line Options?

My 99 silverado new style, has a leaking return line. Chev has decided to discontinue the fuel line assembly just to screw me over. So, Im curious, I know it will be a nightmare to get a steel line to fit in there up around the tranny and the motor. Ive, heard many ups and downs on copper lines. Any thoughts or alternatives?

If you decide to go copper be aware there are different weights of copper. Dont get plumbers grade as this is very thin. I always got mine from an automotive jobber and I think it was .030 wall.

Best bet would be a new metal replacement. I've used fuel hose with success, but you have to be sure to get a high pressure, engineered product.
