Default Getting ready to buy a Duramax

Hi, I am getting ready to start looking for a Duramax with an Allison. It is likely going to be a short bed 4x4, crew cab. I am not really fond of short beds, but it could turn into my wife's daily driver and she would likely do better with a short bed. From what I understand there is really no reason to be concerned with the Allison if it has been maintained correctly. I haven't heard any bad press about the Duramax like you see with the 6.0, 6.4, and 6.7 Fords. Is there anything that I should be looking out for? I am thinking a 2008 to 2014. Definitely not a new one as I think $70,000.00 is nuts for a truck.

Thanks!
