Unhappy GMC starting problem

Hey everyone new to the site, but have read some very helpful threads and seen some very knowledgable replies so im hoping i can get the same help.

I have a 92 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4. I went with a few friends to the a fun spot we call the pipeline, anyhow my truck started and ran fine all day, i went to cross one of the holes and got something wet, now when i try to start my truck when i turn the key its cuts the power to the radio, heater controls and everything else in the cab and nothing gets to the started. It will start if i jump the solonoid, but not with the key. and me and vehicle electronics are not exactly best of friends so i am at a total loss. any tips/help would be appreciated! thanks!
