Default Greetings...just bought a myself a silverado...

Hi, I just bought myself a 2000 Silverado XtCab 5.3L V8 Z71, its got 118K miles.

Just wanted to ask the forum what I should look out for in the sense of repairs. Is there any recalls or anything people normally have issues with. Is there any online store that have great deals on parts? Thanks for your help and I hope to contribute as much as I can.

Cheers,

pablosal

problems are just random. it all depends on how it was driven and where its from. Highway miles, town driving, off roading.

Well that's true, but the reason I ask is because I've had a SLK230 for quite a while and there is a few parts that commonly go bad on these vehicles. I just thought that maybe there's something silverado's are known for. Thanks for you help though.

yea agreed with everyone else. my uncle has the same truck same year and he bought it from a oilfield company he works for who used it as a rig rocket (crew transport from site to rig) through rough lease roads and all sorts of trouble and all he and the company have ever had to do to it was a belt tension pulley and brakes for actual repair. solid truck. but yea just look your truck up on google and carcomplaints and it will give you a good idea of what your lookin for. also maybe google any GM recalls on your truck.
Congrats on a good purchase though!
