Default Header Question

Hey everyone I havea 99 Silverado and I am planning to put a 5.3 in it. I'm looking to put a set of headers on it with flowmaster cat back exhaust. Someone please tell me what would make that setup sound good.

Exactly what you just said. Do you want to run dual or single? If you run dual it will sound better if you have a cross over so both side balance out. I would say a 40 series would sound good for that. But it just depends on what you want.

Default RE: Header Question

I have the Flowmaster on my 2000 and it came out sounding just like I wanted.... Rather than the 40 series I went with the Delta Flow. They are a bit quieter at highway speeds but sound good at idle and when you step on it.

If you leaving the Cats there will be two small ones on each pipe just behind your headers/manifolds. On the stock system, just past the Cats, the system merges into one 3" pipe. I left all this alone/stock on my truck. This way you will only replace the muffler with the Flowmaster 3" in and dual out. knock our dual tailpipes out and your done.
