Does anyone know the difference between the HO 5.3 and the regular 5.3? I have a 2006 which the VIN indicates it has the HO. Just wondering what to expect out of it.

The 5.3L HO has the aluminum block rather than a cast one and the HP jumps to 310 from the standard 5.3L's 295. Torque(FTLBS) stays the same at 335. Offered from 2005 - 2007(Classic Models ). ONLY available in the Extended Cab, Standard Bed, 4WD models.
I had one. The extra HP was slightly noticeable over the base 5.3L during test drives.
