What is the difference between the e-con and the max energy? I'm looking for gas milage and to reset my speedometer. I currently run 33 inch tires and my speedo is 5 mph slow. Leaving for vacation in less than 2 weeks so there's no time for a custom tune. What settings are recommended?

honestly if you've looked into a custom tune but don't have time for it then don't waste the money of the programmer....it won't net you any gains and costs more than the tune will...
why not just wait?

I really need to reset my speedometer before leaving or I know I will end up with a speeding ticket. Cost of ticket plus the hike in my car insurance will have paid for the programmer. Can't seem to find anyone selling a used one.
By the way, I have the 6.0 liter in an 04 2500 crew cab w/ 3.73 gears running 285/70/17 (33") BFG A/T tires. Also have installed a K&N fipk CAI.

you're speedo is only gonna be off by less than 5mph i'd think...search craigslist maybe someone in your area will have one or get on Chevy Truck Forum | GMC Truck Forum - GmFullsize.com and go to the for sale section and search, someone may have one on there too
When i had 285/75/16 bfg (33"), without the tune they were only off by 3 mph so it wasn't too noticeable and i never got pulled over

Your logic really doesn't make any sense...
You're saying you're worried about getting in trouble for speeding, but you know that your speedometer is 5 mph slow. So it seems to me that you'd have to really want to be blatantly going over the speed limit if your speedometer will already read 5 mph over for you when you're going just the speed limit...?
Just keep it in mind while you're driving, as you already must do, and wait for the custom tune later... Unless you really have the money to spend, then why not?
