Question I have a couple questions....

So i just purchased this 2004 silverado short bed 2wd, It has an auto tranny and 4.8 motor. Miles are 99k but runs perfect, so here are a few questions...
I was thinking about putting a brute force cold air intake on it, Hypertech Power programmer III and a Jet Mass air flow sensor... Should i be worried about putting any of this one with these amout of miles? Will these parts actually help me any?
Ok next, my friend has a 2007 Tahoe, and purchased a set of 24x10 wheels and tires but no longer likes them, so wants to sell them to me, im not sure of the offset or anything like that.. Will these wheels fit my truck with no cutting or anything? Their boss model 230, tire size is 305/35r24. I have lowered the rear of truck 2 inches. I was curious if i put reg shackles back on and got fabtech spring spacers for front and leveled it that way if they might fit better. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

99,000 is not that many miles on that motor, I don't think you would have a problem with the add on's you are considering. My advice about the wheels and tires would be to try them on and take it for a ride.

Cool

You can get more bang form your buck with a tuned chip rather than a programmer. Folks swear by BlackBear.

But the CAI and new MAF sound schweet.

Keep an eye on your regular maintenance, and you'll get about another 100k out of that engine easy,if it hasn't been beat.

I appreciate all the info guys, truck was owned by an older couple with a camper on it and was putted around town. Wasnt beat but also might have been babied a lil too much.
Thanks for the info on chip as well, ill deff check in to that.

One reason i was going with the hypertech was so i could compinsate for bigger tires, and later changing gears. Ill see what black bear has to offer.

The programmers are great for changing parameters.

I also use my Diablo to read trouble codes.
