Let's see your lift!
Hey fellas, I've had my '07, 2500HD 6.0L crew cab - long bed 4x4 for a little over a year now and it's time for an upgrade! Now I know a truck that big doesn't really have a place in the sand, but that's beside the point. The point is that the stock sized tires I have on the truck right now just aren't cutting it for beach driving. I've had the truck in the sand probably about 30-35 times for a total of around 500 beach miles over the last year and I seem to be able to manage it just fine, but I really want a little better performance. Occasionally I find myself wishing for a bit of a larger diameter and would definitely like something much wider, plus I need some more ground clearance between the frame and the ground! I know a wider tire with a little extra grip will certainly help in the sand and a larger diameter and small lift will help to get some of the ground clearance I'm looking for. The problem is that I'm just not sure how far to go because I don't know jack about any of this stuff! What I do know is that these stock tires are about as big as I can get without a lift.
Since I don't know what I'm looking for using the numbers, I was hoping y'all could post pics of your lifted trucks with the '07 body style and give a brief description of what you've done. It's the only way I'll be able to get an idea of what look to expect with a new lift and tires. You can tell me about sizes and talk numbers to me all day but it'll be like speaking Greek to my face cause I just won't understand without seeing it. I've looked thru the pics thread in the sticky and spent hours using the search function on this forum as well as searching the internet for the last 5 months with nothing to show but a headache!

Here's the truck. That thing on top is my shark rack for land based shark fishing on the Texas gulf coast.
My flat tire on the way home from the coast this weekend is what's prompting the "need" for a new lift and tires.
As you can see from the pics, the stock size tires look a little sissy on that truck. They're waaaay too small! I want something that fills out the wells a bit better and look size appropriate for the truck, but I don't wanna go too big. I'm not lookin' to jack the thing up to the sky or anything..
