Has anyone ever taken the MAF intake screen off of a 5.3 engine. If so did it help and did any engine codes come on?? It doesn't matter if its was on a 5.3, any engine that has a maf screen on it information would be appreciated.

 

i have a 04 5.3 and i took it off i noticed better milage when driving normal and better response. it also has a K&N drop in filter. i removed the screen after the filter was installed. my truck does 0-60 in 7 seconds its a 4x4 and its a reg cab stepside with 32 inch tires on stock rims. keep me updated on how your truck does
