Default my exhaust almost killed me

Well not really, but it smellslike pure gasoline, burns the eyes! I wasn't to worried about it, but i'm bored and no one seems to be posting yet this morning... and i'm not to savy with what might be causing this problem

So i'm pretty sure i need a new cat, would that cause this problem? or are thier some other suggestions y'all might have as to what I might check, and how to check these things?

Nah, probably just the cat like you say. Its hard to check the cat without taking it off...

My fourwheeler did that once, I just kept on driving it until the motor quit running and wouldnt start back up?? Cant really remember what was wrong with it, but it cost me alot to fix it. But then again im comparing apples to oranges, lol, and fourwheelers dont have cats. You just reminded me of that, thought I would share.

ya it really sounds like the cat.. see the thing that sucks about that is if you dont fix it and all that gas stays in the cat, your going to have a pretty loud a$$ back fire and probably blow your muffle into 5 pieces lol. so if i were you i would make sure its the cat and replace it asap..!!

With the exhaust cool tap the cat (gently) with a rubber mallet and you should be able to hear the catalyst rattling inside. Not a sure fire way to check for a bad cat but a quick and easy one none-the-less.

ya that way works well if the cat is really messed up.. if its that bad you will hear a real bad rattle while your driving. ift could also be dumping too much gas in the cylinders and not getting burned all the way and pushing it out on the exhaust stroke.
