Default My modified '04 Silverado

Hello Everyone,

My name is Mykk (Mike) I am an auto enthusiast who taylors toward hot rods & modifieds. I am a hard rock bass player (myspace.com/mykkmusic) , and this is my daily driven music equipment hauler '04 Silverado 1500 2wd W/T

I purchased this truck new from a dealer in Northern Caliofornia in late '04 and have been bolting on to it ever since. It started life as a stripped down work truck model 4.3L v6 auto trans and I consider myself lucky to of even recieved A/C & cruise control.

Size: 73.9 KB

Exterior:

The truck has been lowered 2"/4" and sits on 22" x 9.5" Voodoo series 407 rims wraped in Yokohama Parada Spec-X 265/40-22 tires

Street scene: SS bumper cover, cal-vu side mirrors, speed grill
Halo projector headlight lenses with 8000k HIDs, smoked LED tails. Steel cowl hood with a Autoloc forward tilt hinge.

The exhaust gets run through the side of the bed with a StylinTrucks tip. Shaved tailgate handle & fiberglass rollpan.

Coming soon will be a set of copper metallic RST styled stripes.

Interior:

Size: 53.7 KB

White gauge face overlay, diamond tread aluminum interior pieces, Autometer A/F ratio gauge, Alpine IVA-W200 in-dash DVD player & Playstation 2, Laptop mount. Gtech performance meter.

And just recently added the 5" Autometer Phantom monster tach

Engine:

.040" over bore, four bolt mains, 86-95 roller cam 350 block
Vortec 906 heads, bowl hogged & blended, gasket matched
Comp 918 Beehive ls1 type springs
GMPP LT4 hotcam; .525"/.525", 218/228, 112
Proform 1.6 ratio aluminum roller rockers
H345NCP-40 pistons
10.2-1 compression
ZZ4 take out forged crank & rods, balanced
Professional products split dual plane, air gap design intake manifold
Edelbrock 750cfm carb
Hooker long tube headers

Dynoed: 401HP @ 5500 RPM, 426TQ @ 4500 RPM

The engine was original swaped into this GMT800 with a L31 fuel injection unit, but was having severe drivability issues that was unresolved with computer tuning. So the decision was made to go really old school with the carb.

The transmission is the trucks original 4L60E, a throttle position sensor has been adapted to the carb primaries shaft and the Vortec styled 4x crank position reluctor wheel & sensor are still in tact so the OE 6243 PCM can control the trans.

Other performance:

NOS 125HP single fogger wet shot nitrous
Dacco 2800-3200rpm lock up converter
Motive Performance 4:10-1 rear gears
Tru-Cool Mini Max trans cooler
Flex-A-lite electric fans
march underdrive pullies
2.5" Catless Y-pipe
single 3" Mandrel bent exhaust
Flowmaster Super 40 muffler

All work you see here was done by yours truely, here are a few videos of my Silverado.

That is awesome. Truly awesome. I love the clean look of the bodywork and the color :P
You got any numbers on it? 1/4 times, BHP, torque?

How did you install the forward tilt hood? Or better question, how involved is it?

Nice J-bass btw. I play a Peavey Millenium 5 with humbuckers through a Behringer BXL 1800 Ultrabass. I play guitar more so than bass though, but I can slap with the best of them!

Thanks. I've semi-retired the J Bass. I've owned it since 1998 and it's worn through. I've been mostly using my Ernie Ball musicman sterling. I play through a mesa-boogie bass 400+ & Ampeg PR1832HE cab.

I don't have a drag strip close to me, aside from Phoenix Az and I rarely get down that way. I've still got a few bugs to work out before I truely let her loose.

this is an exquisite piece of art mike. i mean oh my good golly gosh. thats a good idea of what im planning for my 98. but hands down beautiful truck! now my question is how are you classifying your vehicle because of the carb? I was told if i need emissions i got a lot to do with the classifying of the vehicle to be able to drive it daily.

Thank you.

I live in a county that doesn't have smog/emissions. That is the only way I could have done this build.

oh... damn you are lucky. well i guess my option then is do my 95 k1500 trick. i plan on gettin one of those. short cab reg. bed and lift a little. all black no chrome but a lip on the rim. it will have that pearlescent green/black flame job so you cant see them one way but see a fade green pearl another way. then 383 stroker in it carb'd and black interior. its going to be my stealth machine hehe. how long did it take you to get your truck to what it is now?

The 383 has that extra water jacket off the block and I need those 2 pipes off the top of the water pump.. yours from the pictures looks Like it's possibly the right one.. can you help a guy out
