Default Need Help blower problem

I have a 04 silverado and have replaced both the resistor and the blower motor. The problem is when i turn it to speed 5 I will start smelling wires burning. works fine 1-4 will only do it on 5. I traced the smell back to the resistor and it is getting real hot and starts to burn up. Any help would be great.

sounds like bad ground, maybe main power wire and/or connectors bad, wrong resistor, or the actual switch is bad.

OK I recieved my parts in less than a day and installed them and we are all set. You have to change the wire harness and the resistor att he same time. The exact link is

All I needed was some wire cutters, wire strippers, electrical tape, and a lighter to melt the shrink tubing. Everything else was supplied. I save $170 from what the dealer wanted. The resistor was AC Delco and the wire harness was delphi. I would definitely order from these guys again
