need help to replace a resister
Hi,
I tried searching in here but could not find how to replace the resistor on the blower motor, is there a thread with a step by step with pictures? I have a 1998 silverado.
Thanks

Try the following? In order to get to blower motor resistor:
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the glove compartment door.
3. Remove the plenum tray.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector.
5. Remove the blower motor resistor mounting screws and remove the resistor.

6. Install the new resistor (don't touch the resistor coils).

Thanks for the drawing, it helped a lot. For what ever reason I spaced on the plenum tray
( I'll have to look in there again ) but I was successful in swapping the resister out. Tight fit to say the least and some blood was spilled but turned out good.
Thanks again
Frank

It's always nice to hear of success stories.
