Need a quick easy answer 05 tailgate on 01

I'm picking up the 01 today and it's missing the tail gate, I found one in great shape and the right color but guy says its from a 05.

Will it fit?

It should fit, as long as yours isn't a stepside and his is a fleetside or vice versa. It they're they same bed stepside-stepside and fleetside-fleetside you should be good to go
