Hello All.

I live in the UK and recently bought a '96 model Silverado 1500 ck 6.5td to use as a towing work truck. As I'm sure most of you know there are several specialist US parts importers in the UK and Europe, however the specialist factor means a big wack of profit on what stuff costs in the US, just because US vehicles are so rare here.

Standard parts are realtively easy to find through firms like Rock Auto, but I'm hoping some of you may be able to recommend good mail order firms for reconditioned or second hand parts. Doesn't matter where they are in the US, so long as they're happy to ship stuff to Europe.

The main reason I'm asking is that I need a recon power steering unit and drivers side front drive shaft for my truck, and as these parts are not available new the prices here are nuts!

If I could find a good firm I'd probably put together a shopping list of all the stuff I'd like and ship it all at once. I'd like to upgrade some other stuff for towing and heavier loading, but I'll traul through the other threads for that info.

Nobody knows a good breakers yard or recon dealer?

Did you try eBay?

I can get AC Delco parts there for far less than the cost at a dealership. I just looked and there are power steering pumps sellers maybe you can make a connection with a top rated seller and find the other stuff you need.

Edit Looks like there are drive shafts available too.
