Angry no lights on rear of truck

my 1988 chevy stepside 4x4 had lights till i changed the steering colom but now i have nothing on the rear of the truck ive checked all the wireing from the rear of the truck to the cab but havent found anything and ive checked fuse box and droped the stearing colum back down and checked wireing there but still nothing any one no anything about these trucks ty

how is the ground? do u have brake lights? what year of truck did u take the new column from? have you tried hooking up the old column to the wiring harness? at least this way you would know if it is in the column or somewhere else

i lost all lights on rear of my 1977 stepside, it was the ground.

repaired ground to bed and all was good again.

i have no lights what so ever on back of truck, i took the colum out of a 1990 chevy 1500 all the parts are supose to interchange between 88 and 98 . i havent had to much time to deal with it ive been in and out of hospital but plan on going out today and droping the colum and checking all the wireing on it

Default fixed some lights

ok i got signal lights and break lights now but no tail lights when head lights are turned on any ideas? had to fix a ground wire from the ground to the bumper it wouldent ground on the frame for some reason any ideas on that to? ty

My dad just had the same thing, changed the brake light switch (back of brake pedal) but still didn't fix it. Had all lights except brake lights. Ended up being the turnsignal/headlight assembly switch on the column. His is a 93 gmc 4x4
