Default oil burning

I have a 1995 chevy 2500 diesel. I see smoke coming out of my dipstick and when i replaced my starter last week there was some oil on it. I am guessing I need a new gasket somewhere but I am not really sure. If someone could give me some insight I would appreciate that. Also I am running my truck off of grease and have installed a grease converter in it. I am having trouble with my new fuel pump where as it is not working at all. I still have my diesel one working yet my grease one wont pump. If any of you know anything and could give me advice that would be great thanks

regards
Tyler

Default RE: oil burning

Tyler,
My guess is that your old 95 6.5 Liter diesel motor has some miles on it and is getting pretty tired.
If you have smoke coming out the dipstick you may have a cracked head or blown head gasket or just a lot of ring blow-bye.
When you say that you're running it one "grease" do you mean biodiesel or old french-fry oil?
