Piston Slap

Piston Slap
I have a 2002 Silverado with the infamous engine piston slap. I will be purchasing a new truck this year and was wondering if this is still a problem on the Chevys. Also, is there anything else on the new Chevy Silverado I should be aware of?
Thanks!
Thanks!

RE: Piston Slap
I have a 99, piston slapping started at 12,000 miles or so, only in cold weather and lasts only a couple of minutes till warmed up, they said it was normal, I wouldn't touch another Chevy ever, just my .02 worth, I've had nothing but trouble with mine.

RE: Piston Slap
Since model year 2005 all the small block V8 engines began using a new full floating piston design (as opposed to the previous pressed wrist-pin), this illuminated the piston-slap problem.

RE: Piston Slap
I had an 05 and no PS. I only had 10K on it when I sold it though. Now have a NBS 07 and it BETTER NOT develop PS![] The guy above is right though I believe. You really don't hear about it on vehiclesthat are newerthan 04-05.
